Piazza San Carlo is one of the most important squares in Turin, often nicknamed the ‘living room’ of the city for its elegance given by its porticoes and architectures. Convenient to all services, it can be reached on foot from the main places of interest in the city or comfortably by public transport. It is located exactly in the middle of Via Roma, equidistant between Piazza Castello and Piazza Carlo Felice. A mandatory stop during a visit or a passage through Turin, it is possible to stroll through the entire square with the feeling of having returned to the 17th century.

Thanks to its central location, it has often been the center of Turin’s political and aristocratic life. Particularly famous are the bars and cafes in the square, frequented in the past by Royals, nobles, and writers. The square is flanked by the two churches of Santa Cristina and San Carlo, the so-called ‘twins’ due to their remarkable resemblance, even though the facades were built more than a century apart.
